Interior Design Trends for 2024

In need of some interior inspo for the new season?

Here are our designers top takes on the interior design trends to look out for 2024….

1. Peach Shades

Named as Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2024, ‘Peach Fuzz’ is set to be huge for the year ahead. Hitting that sweet spot between pink and orange, this shade evokes a sense of peacefulness, warmth and comfort.

This bright and welcoming hue can be used almost anywhere in your home. If you’re looking to brighten up your space or add a pop of warmth, then Peach Fuzz will certainly hit the mark.

If you have a fairly neutral, modern space that can feel a little cold, consider adding this shade into your interiors through either artwork or accessories. This warm tone will allow the darker colours to pop and adding a focal point to your room.

2. Boucle

Boucle has become a firm favourite among many - and it’s here to stay for 2024!

Adding warmth and texture to any space, it’s the ideal pairing for almost any fabric. We opt for this material in a lot of our designs, from armchairs to cushions. It instantly adds a cosy feel to your interior and you don’t have to spend a fortune to nail this trend, either.

Due to it’s popularity in 2023, there are a lot of affordable boucle pieces on the market now from a range of retailers, so you’re bound to find one that ticks your box.

3. Checkerboard

The classic black and white checkerboard floor has been a classic for decades. However the checkerboard trend for 2024 has had an update. The new checkerboard trend is bolder and brighter and working it’s way up onto walls.

Rustic tones such as chestnut browns and rust reds lend themselves well to this trend. If you’re in the market for a new kitchen splash back that makes a statement, then this trend might be right up your street.

4. Textured Walls

Another trend that was strong in 2023 was textured walls.

The trend will continue into 2024 with the rising popularity of lime wash walls. We’ll see a move from greys into warmer tones such as browns and earthy hues - adding character to your home.

As well as lime wash we’ll see more slat feature walls, wallpaper, plaster finishes and tiling.

5. 70s Revival

We know by now that trends always circle back, and that couldn’t be more true for one of the biggest trends set to soar in 2024. We’re looking to the seventies for an interior revival that evokes joy, style and bold colour pops.

For your colour palette, think of rich tans, deep peach, mustard and avocado shades to nail the look. In terms of furniture and styling, look to mid-century modern pieces and walnut wood finishes.
